Dubrovnik, known as the ‘Pearl of the Adriatic’ is the number one destination in Croatia. Magnificent architecture, preserved nature and interesting history together with small town charm make Dubrovnik a destination not to be missed.
The unique backdrop of Dubrovnik with its crystal-clear sea, impeccable streets and impressive fortified city walls make Dubrovnik very popular with MICE groups.
However, Dubrovnik is more than just a feast for the eyes. Excellent gastronomy, impressive historical venues, superb hotel options and mild climate, make Dubrovnik a destination that can be enjoyed all year around. This is also one of the reasons why Dubrovnik continues to be one of the top destinations that event planners from all over the world continue to rave about.
For event organisers, Dubrovnik is such a wonderfully complete destination where one can plan a conference, team building programme, an incentive trip or any kind of an event in one of the numerous exquisite hotels and also have a range of options for activities, day trips, gala dinners, as well as plenty of opportunities to experience authentic Dubrovnik. Many of our guests enjoy taking the time to explore Dubrovnik’s picturesque streets, listening to local musicians, discovering museums, local markets, palaces and local cafes of this picture-perfect city. DK Events Croatia DMC also organises many wonderful activities in Dubrovnik and the surrounding areas, ensuring that your Clients have an unforgettable time in Dubrovnik.
The city has more five-star hotels than any other city in Croatia including the capital, Zagreb. Hotel Groups such as Adriatic Luxury Hotels, Valamar Riviera Hotels and Importanne Resorts all have wonderful properties in Dubrovnik. Famous hotel brands include the Hilton, Sheraton and the Rixos and there are also quite a few picture-perfect boutique hotels in town such as Pucić Palace Hotel or Villa Dubrovnik.
Whilst the development of new properties has eased down in the last few years due to the already existing high-quality properties, we are pleased to say that these existing properties are constantly being refurbished and updated which results in some truly fantastic accommodation options.
At DK Events, we always recommend a quality city tour to all our Clients so they can fully appreciate the uniqueness of Dubrovnik. From the old town we can organise many activities such as sea kayaking around the city walls, cooking classes, speedboat tours to the nearby islands or tours on board majestic replicas of merchant ships, for true wow effect. A city rally, boat building activity, treasure hunt or James Bond challenge are all fun team building activities that allow you to explore the old town at the same time. All Game of Thrones fans will enjoy a combination tour of the old town and the city walls seeing many famous locations from the series onsite.
Only half an hour from Dubrovnik you can enjoy Konavle, a small region famous for its folkloric heritage still seen today through Konavle folkloric dress, traditional dancing, singing and a developed agriculture which results in rich offerings of local specialties and fresh produce. Guests can enjoy a 4×4 jeep safari or a bike tour through the region or venture out in vintage Renault 4 cars, sampling the local food and drink along the way.
Wine lovers can head out to Pelješac Peninsula which is located an hour away from Dubrovnik and visit some fantastic vineyards and wineries and taste some of the best wines in the region accompanied by homemade bread and local prosciutto and cheese. Whilst in the area, a visit to the oldest salt plantation in Europe is also recommended as well as a boat trip to the oyster and mussels’ plantation, where on a platform in the sea, guests can taste the freshest mussels and oysters and learn about their cultivation.
For those preferring to venture out into the neighbouring countries of Bosnia and Herzegovina or Montenegro, DK DMC can organise an interesting day trip that will give you a real taste of our neighbours’ best gems, such as the beautiful cities of Mostar and Kotor.
