Mostar – DK’s recommended excursion from Split and Dubrovnik

Mostar – DK’s recommended excursion from Split and Dubrovnik

The new Lonely Planet Guide to South East Europe has just been published featuring a photo of Mostar on its cover page. Rightly so, as this beautiful town located in the western region of Bosnia and Herzegovina is definitely worth a visit and it is one of DK Events’ top excursion recommendations for our groups staying in Split or Dubrovnik.

Mostar dates back from the 15th century and has a distinctly Ottoman look, together with a colourful handicraft bazar, grandiose mosques and beautiful river views lined with cafes and restaurants. The star of Mostar is its majestic Old Bridge which is a UNESCO protected Heritage site as well as the symbol of Mostar. Friendly people and an interesting history will definitely make this excursion a memorable one.

The scenic journey to Mostar from Split and Dubrovnik takes approximately 2.5-3 hours. For groups we recommend discovering the old town, enjoying local delicacies and wine in a picturesque restaurant, Turkish coffee break with cakes and optional shisha smoking, watching a dive from the Old Bridge, visiting the museum of Mostar as well as a local mosque.
