Makarska
Makarska is a picturesque town on the Adriatic coast, approximately 60 km southeast of Split and 140 km northwest of Dubrovnik. Makarska is the centre of the Makarska Riviera which runs approximately 30km in either direction from Makarska town, towards Split or Dubrovnik. Along the Riviera, there are many picturesque seaside towns such as Brela, Baška Voda, Tučepi and Podgora.

Makarska is noted for its palm-fringed promenade full of trendy cafes, bars and boutiques overlooking the beautiful harbour as well as its old town centre with narrow stone-paved streets and a beautiful church square. ACTIVITIES IN MAKARSKA
The vicinity of the sea, mountains, islands, Split, Dubrovnik and Bosnia and Herzegovina make Makarska an ideal location for numerous activities and excursions for MICE groups. Makarska Rivera is blessed with some of the best beaches in Croatia so a boat trip is ideal to explore the finest beaches with crystal clear sea, enjoy local food and have a relaxing day out. Sea kayaking, scuba diving, aqua aerobics, rafting and canoeing are all available nearby as well as boat excursions to the islands of Hvar and Brač and coach excursions to Split and Dubrovnik. Makarska Riviera is lined with olive and wine groves and a wine tasting tour is a great post activity treat and a great way to familiarise yourself with Dalmatian wines and olive oil.
Towering above Makarska town is the impressive Biokovo mountain, the second highest mountain range in Croatia. Makarska Riviera has some wonderful dining options in Makarska itself and in other nearby towns along the Riviera such as Baška Voda and Brela. Along the riviera you will find several excellent restaurants in prime beach and old town locations offering international and local cuisine. For traditional Croatian food, we recommend dining in a local tavern ‘konoba’ and tasting local specialties such as fresh fish and lamb or octopus cooked under a hot iron bell. A fun fisherman’s night can also be organised in Makarska town or on board a traditional Dalmatian boat. Guests can enjoy the night with good music, fresh fish menu and local wine.
