DK’s top 10 adventure and culinary activities in Croatia

DK’s top 10 adventure and culinary activities in Croatia

DK Events’ top ten adventure and culinary activities in Croatia for 2016, including cycling, sailing and some seriously delicious food and wine.

1. Island hopping in seaplanes from Split
Visit the islands of Hvar, Lastovo and Korčula in style by flying there from Split city centre in seaplanes! The journey times are very short and the views on the way – breathtaking! On the islands, DK Events organises fun incentive and team building activities that bring groups to the most attractive spots on the islands.

2. Cycling in Istria
Experience the dramatic Istrian landscapes whilst cycling and visiting beautiful villages and towns and enjoying local delicacies along the way. Cycling is the number one group sport in Istria with excellent cycling routes set in place for all level cyclists.

3. Discovering the crystal clear Adriatic Sea
Whether on a sailboat, speedboat, catamaran or a traditional Dalmatian boat – an activity on the beautiful crystal clear Adriatic Sea is a must in any spring or summer programme!

4. Adventure sports in Split
Did you know that the city of Split has more international-level sports people per capita than any other city in the world?! So if adventure sports are your thing, Split is the place to be! DK Events organises a range of fun activities in Split region such as sea-kayaking, diving, hiking, stand up paddling, rock climbing, canyoning and river rafting.

5. Renault 4 old timer adventure in Konavle Valley
This fun activity involves driving the colourful, fully restored Renault 4 vehicles throughout the Konavle Valley, just 20km south of Dubrovnik. Along the way, the group will make several stops to enjoy the natural setting, try some local olive oil and cheese, visit a local artist’s house or learn more about local handcrafts.

6. Show truffle hunting in Istria
The activity takes place in a forest close to the small village of Livade, where the world’s largest white truffle was found. With the help of professional truffle hunters and their dogs that are trained in truffle hunting, participants will discover how these precious mushrooms are found. After the activity, the group will enjoy an unforgettable truffle themed lunch.

7. Craft Beer Tasting in Zagreb
Serious quality craft beers are being produced in the Croatian capital – Zagreb. With the assistance of a local expert brewer, the group will taste some of Croatia’s most exciting beers coupled with traditional Zagreb food.

8. ‘Peka’
The main food at most Croatian celebrations, peka usually consists of various meats or octopus with seasonal vegetables cooked under a hot iron bell. Try it, you won’t regret it.

9. Oyster and mussels tasting in Ston (Dubrovnik region)

Simple, fresh, straight out of the sea. That is the best way to enjoy oysters and mussels from Ston village, the very best in Croatia. Enjoy a ride on a small boat that will take you directly to the oysters and mussels plantations in the sea where you will taste these fresh local delicacies. When in Ston, a visit to the old salt plantation, the Ston city walls and fish and seafood lunch by the sea is a must!

 10. Croatian wine tasting in picturesque vineyards
Any wine lover will enjoy visiting Croatia’s vineyard estates in Istria, Dalmatia or Slavonia. Native Dalmatian red wine sorts Plavac Mali and Zinfandel’s ancestor, Crljenak Kaštelanski are a must try as well as the fresh and exceptionally floral Istarska Malvazija white wine which comes from an indigenous strain of the malvasia grape.

If you have a group that you think would enjoy one of these adventure or culinary experiences, please send us your request – we would be delighted to send you a tailor made proposal!

Hope to see you soon in Croatia!
